Just when you thought that you had learnt all the new buzzwords, I am about to coin another one. Without this new buzzword, much of what you would do using Bolero will not make sense. I am going to talk about d-commerce, which stands for document commerce. Although you may not have heard of it, d-commerce is what you do when you conduct any important business transaction. For example, you do not sell tons of grains or barrels of oil by using a credit card. You do it by signing and executing a number of documents. It is this process of conducting commerce on the Internet by an exchange of documents that I have termed d-commerce. It is d-commerce, which occupies a large amount of resources in any business organization. This is the area in which we can bring greater efficiency and cost savings by using Bolero's d-commerce initiative.

D-commerce has been neglected by the first wave revolution- which we may call e-commerce-brought about by the Internet. Bolero's initiative makes d-commerce a reality by making it accessible to small and large businesses. This chapter defines what d-commerce is and how Bolero's initiative brings several advantages to businesses.
