Ideally, all networks and business software should be able to talk to
each other. If one network can communicate to another network, we
call it interoperable network. Similarly ,if a business software is capable
of talking to other business software, we call it interoperable software.
This is an ideal goal, but in practice, it is never achieved. The best we
can hope for is to set certain common standards which can bind many
heterogeneous businesses in by a single chain of interoperability. With
this ideal in mind, I will appraise Bolero Network’s interoperability,
especially when it comes to the documents exchanged using Bolero.
Importance of Interoperability
Interoperability is important because one business would like to
exchange documents and data with another business. In simple terms,
a file or document created by one user must not only be readable by
the other users, but their computer systems should also be able to
process it automatically with minimum human intervention. If this is
not made possible, the whole exercise of linking business users becomes
futile.
